Browsing the pet supplies isle with R the other day at Publix, I noticed an interesting pattern among the cat related products. Many of the kitty litter boxes or food bags had pictures of felines in an almost Hitleresque salute.

Do you see? Kittens from brands far and wide, mindlessly saluting...kibble? We may never know their secret. Are they all gathering, in their Kitty Rotary Clubs and Lodges, pledging evil alliance to some cat food conglomerate, watching their human cohabitants day in and day out, furtively notetaking? Are they recording our patterns of living? Our eating, sleeping and work habits? Will they one day take over the earth as we know it? Are we mistaking this feline insouciance for the fact that they are so busy deciding how to implode our skyscrapers into giant mounds of kitty litter whilst preserving the grass and trees (it's all about ambience, you know) that they are just too distracted to offer us any pithy, pet-like mews or playful batting at string?

One wonders.

Well, not much to report. I am attending the dedication of my nephew tomorrow, and THANK HEAVAN THE CABLE GUY IS SCHEDULED TO BRING THE SWEET, SWEET AMBROSIA THAT IS CABLE TELEVISION TO THE MAGIC BOX IN THE CORNER OF MY LIVING ROOM. It has become lonely with only the occasional company of Mr. Playstation to enliven it's glassy screen.
